In Hoboken, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across New Jersey on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Hoboken is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Hoboken follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Edited after seeing response… the response says it all. I didn’t say anything about the bread needing to be sourdough; how could the restaurant take responsibility for customers needing to zip up? But the restaurant IS responsible for where tables are placed. AND I’ve eaten Italian food from my first meal, let alone in restaurants… my grandparents came here from Italy. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ. ✌🏻. ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Well, it wasn’t terrible. They’re around since 1939. It’s very β€˜90s interior. Kinda cute retro now- it’s come back around. Each of four dishes needed salt, garlic and at least basil. One was fully consumed and three were less than half completed. That doesn’t happen when the flavors are killer. The bread needs some work. Seriously hard to justify a weak bread service in this age of sourdough fame. And we sat with one person’s left shoulder 8 inches from the Mens room door. Each restroom visitor showed us the mop bucket stored just inside the door. Most men were zipping their pants as they passed our table.

The best Italian restaurant we have ever been to. Jackie our server was amazing and made the atmosphere wonderful. Her explanation of the menu was spot on and well done. Be sure and eat here!

Growing up in Hoboken, Leo’s was always a staple for my family. We ordered from there on the weekly basis and would always enjoy the food. Our favorites were some of the classics like the bar pies and muscles Marina. Over the years their prices have continued to rise, which is expected. What is not expected is for the quality and quantity of their food to decline. Yesterday, we ordered the same two items, mussels and bar pies. The pies that once cost $1.50 now cost $5. Again, to be expected over the course of 40 years. But the pies they now make barely fill half of the box they come in and are as flat as pancakes. They are the equivalent of less than one slice of pizza anywhere else. To make things worse, if you substitute vodka sauce for marinara sauce, your pie jumps from $5 to $9. Literally 1 tablespoon of sauce on a tiny pizza, and you’re doubling the price? I just can’t make sense of going there anymore, at least not until their quality goes back up.

Can’t believe it took us 7 year to try this place! We went for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! It’s an authentic and classic restaurant of Hoboken with Sinatra’s vibes! We will be back! Highly recommended!

The atmosphere is neighborhood red sauce joint (from the 80s). It was a favorite of Frank Sinatra the way it was so clearly it would be hard to change anything after that kind of an endorsement so they haven’t. It is awesome if you crave nostalgia and not if you don’t. I personally appreciated it so it made my experience better. We’ve been coming here for a dozen years but never reviewed it. The most recent visit however deserved mention. Leo’s has always been consistent but this time it truly stood out. Whether it was a lack of experimenting with the menu on our part or tweaks in the offerings on the restaurants part is unclear but there are many gems here. Everyone raves about the bar pies so we got one and it ranked amongst the top pizzas we’ve had in Hoboken, Jersey City, New Haven and NYC which is no small praise. The baked ziti was always a favorite but this time we ordered the daily special lasagna and the baked ziti with the fra diavolo sauce. It was amazing. The bread (from antique bakery) was amazing and that’s not the effect of the way they pour their wine (which is ridiculous) speaking. Take the hint and get the bar pies, mussels and lasagna and bread and get fra diavol
